Star Wars sequel trilogy star Daisy Ridley had quit social media ever since she joined the Galaxy Far Far Away, and it was her exit along with Kelly Marie Tran that forced the fandom to address its toxic members. With The Rise of Skywalker far behind her, Ridley has announced a return to Instagram, and the fans are celebrating her back.
This was Ridley’s post:

Daisy Ridley returning to social media in full “done with the BS” tea-sipping mode is GOAT behavior. pic.twitter.com/Sk6QNiYIhZ

We don’t know exactly the reason Ridley decided to come back, but it’s great to see her back in the spotlight. With actors like Mark Hamill having a thriving social media account, this probably gives Ridley the opportunity to connect with the fans who really appreciated her turn as Rey.
Of course, we don’t know how the toxic fans will react to her return, but I’m betting that Ridley was fully prepared for that when she decided to enter social media again. Maybe she got some helpful tips from The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, who just refuses to be put down by all the people who are just relentless with their hate for TLJ.
Some are hoping for the Sequel Trilogy cast to make a comeback in the future, but for now, it seems that Lucasfilm is only pleased with returning to the Prequel and Original Trilogy eras with shows like The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi. My guess is Star Wars is waiting for the kids who grew up on the ST to come to social media, so that they won’t be too drowned out by the toxic fandom whenever they post something new.
Either way, that’s just my guess.
We don’t know what Ridley has in store for the future, but you can watch out for her cameo in Netflix’s The Bubble which is now streaming.
