Spider-Man: No Way Home Director in Talks to Helm Star Wars Series

It seems that director Jon Watts just can’t lose. Besides the critical praise of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Watts has also been tapped to direct Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four reboot, and now word has it that he could be working on an upcoming Star Wars property as well.

Discussing Film reports that Watts is currently in talks to helm “at least one” episode of an upcoming Star Wars series Disney+. We don’t know which series it is yet, but it has been given the working title of Grammar Rodeo and Jon Favreau is once again attached to executive produce.

So far, the Disney+ Star Wars series have managed to nab some top-notch directors from Bryce Dallas Howard to Peyton Reed, and it seems like they’ll be continuing the tradition if Watts comes onboard to direct even just one entry.

We don’t know what the series could be, but several had been announced for Disney+ including a Lando series as well as A Droid Story and The Acolyte. Personally, I’m in the camp of fans that wants a sequel to the world of Solo: A Star Wars Story (#MakeSolo2Happen), and I would love to have Watts involved in continuing the story of a young Han Solo. Maybe it’s the Ahsoka series, seeing that the show is said to be aiming for a production start this summer?

Hopefully we get an announcement soon. In the meantime, you can check out Watts’ Spider-Man: No Way Home now in theaters. Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on May 25.
