Actresses Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are currently the talk of the town when it comes to the world of film. This is because the two are the possible stars of Paul Feig’s upcoming film, A Simple Favor. With Feig being the director of “Bridesmaids,” and Kendrick starring in the musical comedy “Pitch Perfect,” one might expect this film to be a laugh. But there’s a catch to this, it’s not going to be the usual rom-com, slapstick comedy people are used to.
What’s The Favor All About?
The Tracking Board confirms that Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are indeed in Paul Feig’s upcoming film. Despite having such an innocent title, “A Simple Favor” is actually about a murder. The film tackles the disappearance of a woman with her mommy blogger best friend documenting the whole ordeal. Imagine seeing Kendrick and Lively bringing the mystery-murder film into life, thriller style. Now that’s a fresh sight to see.
The film has also caught the attention of many because of the type of director Paul Feig is. Feig, director of “Ghostbuster”, is trying out the thriller genre. This is definitely a step out of Feig’s usual comedy films and a step into foreign ground. Feig, however, will not be alone in this and will produce the film alongside Jessie Henderson. Additionally, the Lionsgate company is settling movie matters with Fox 2000, who obtained the movie in January 2016.
The film is based on author Darcy Bell’s novel with the same name and HarperCollins publishing the two book deal. As for the actresses’ latest projects, Kendrick’s “Pitch Perfect” franchise has its third movie for release this December 22. Lively, on the other hand, is the star of “All I See Is You”, an Open Road film out September 17th.
