We’ve had Pixar try to explain feelings with Inside Out, and Netflix telling us the origins of Santa with Klaus, and now Apple TV+ has dropped a trailer for their movie explaining ‘Luck’.
Watch the new trailer for Luck from Skydance Animation:
According to Deadline, the story follows one Sam Greenfield (Eva Noblezada) who is said to be the ‘unluckiest person in the world.’ Her fortunes change, though, when she finds herself in the Land of Luck, which is filled with all sorts of lucky creatures and charms, and she will have to unite all of them to turn her luck around.
Besides Noblezada, the movie also includes the voice talents of Flula Borg, Lil Rel Howery, and John Ratzenberger. Trekkies will also recognize the voice of one Simon Pegg, who is once again using his Scottish accent for the role of Bob the Lucky Cat.
I’ll admit, some of the animation looks like the movie came out five years ago, but I’m willing to give the concept a chance. It really does have that Pixar kind of premise to it, and maybe if we get a new trailer giving us a better look at the plot and the world, more people would be interested to watch the film. I mean, it does have a stellar cast.
Luck is a pretty big deal for Skydance Animation, seeing that this is their first feature film. With Dreamworks and Illumination already keeping up with the ridiculous success of Disney Aimation and Pixar, I’m eager to see what kind of material Skydance has to bring to the table.
Luck starts streaming on Apple TV+ on Aug. 5.
