'Sharp Objects' Season 1, Episode 3 'Fix' Recap: The Wild Side

Unlike the previous chapter of Sharp Objects, the Protagonist barely finds anything that helps the story about the two murdered girls. However, what she does uncover makes her want to leave the town again. The Protagonist has looks, money, and brains, all to her advantage. While looks and funds help her make her mark in the city, her intellect led to her escape. Now that she is back, it does not matter what she had. Inevitably, the story binds her back to the town of Wind Gap.

In this week’s episode of Sharp Objects, Camille Preaker (Amy Adams) relives a recent tragedy she experienced. While Amma Crellin (Eliza Scanlen) shows Camille her wild side, Adora Crellin (Patricia Clarkson) interferes with Camille’s investigation. Meanwhile, Detective Richard Willis (Chirs Messina) and Police Chief Vickery (Matt Craven) clash over Vickery’s list of potential murder suspects.

Camille’s Issues

During Camille’s time in the Rehab center, she met a young woman named Alice (Sydney Sweeney). They got along since they are roommates. However, only one of them made it out alive since Alice committed suicide after her mother’s visit. While Camille worked on her story, she continually tried to cloud her thoughts about Alice. It even made her decide to drive away from Wind Gap once more.

Amma was a different problem. Ever since Camille’s arrival, Amma’s behavior towards her is strange. However, Amma’s peculiar behavior became extreme as each day passed. One night, she went home past curfew, drunk and disorderly. Camille reached her breaking point when Amma interrupts her evening with Richard. As much as Adora warned Amma about Camille, Amma herself posed more of a threat to Camille.

Lastly, in the middle of Camille’s interview with Bob Nash (Will Chase), Adora suddenly enters the house and abruptly ends the conversation. She drives Camille away despite Bob’s insisting that he was okay with Camille interviewing him. At home, Camille tries to apologize to Adora, but when Adora gets pricked by a thorn as she worked on the roses, she blames Camille.

The Continued Cooperation

Richard tries hard to finish the case as fast as he could. He knew that the townsfolk did not like him and Vickery made it hard for him to do his job. At first, he pushes Camille away because of his frustration. However, as Camille gave her a peace offering, they got along. After talking about John Keene (Taylor John Smith), one of the suspects, Camille agreed to tell him stories about the town as they had drinks on an empty parking lot. However, as mentioned before, Amma’s arrival ruins the night.

Camille’s family might have been the reason why she left Wind Gap. Not only did they always interfere with her job, but they also made it clear that they dislike her. Adora held resentment against Camille because of her sister, Marian’s (Lulu Wilson) death. Also, Amma was a young spirit who wanted to be better than Camille and Marian. Camille got herself into a huge mess, but when it is over, it is probably worth it.
