Sharp Objects finally reached its season finale. A sequence of surprising plot twists unfolds in this final episode. While the protagonist tries to save a life, another faces unjust condemnation. At the end of the chapter, rapid flashbacks reveal the actual killer. One person may be wrong for one thing, but the killer is still at large.
In the season finale of Sharp Objects, Camille Preaker (Amy Adams) and Amma Crellin (Eliza Scanlen) escape the Preaker mansion. Meanwhile, Chief Vickery (Matt Craven) and Detective Richard Willis (Chris Messina) interrogate John Keene (Taylor John Smith). With the help of the police and Frank Curry (Miguel Sandoval), Camille cheats death. However, in the end, the real killer remains at large.
Interrogation
John Keene breaks down when he finds out about his sister’s blood, found in their house. This evidence may tie him to the murder, but he is not the murderer. John did not even know about the blood; Ashley Wheeler (Madison Davenport) hid it from everyone. John is just another casualty of the murder case. Perhaps the real murderer set up the evidence to bring him into the mess.
Medication
To save Amma, Camille knew that she had to divert Adora Crellin’s (Patricia Clarkson) attention. Because of this, Camille ate some of the poisoned food Adora set for her knowingly. Amma was supposed to use this opportunity to escape, but she did not. Earlier that evening, Richard tried to visit Camille, but Alan Crellin (Henry Czerny) tells him that Camille was unavailable. Richard noticed how Camille’s car remains parked in the front yard, so he called in backup. Luckily, just as Camille hung on by a thread, the police arrive at the scene, led by Frank and Richard.
Conviction
Transitioning from the Preaker mansion to Camille’s apartment in St. Louis took some time. While this happened, Adora’s trial went and eventually, ended with her imprisonment. Amma had time to visit her mother at the prison, but they spent most of their time adjusting to the new setup. Frank and Eileen Curry (Barbara Eve Harris) welcomed the girls as well as Amma’s new friend, Mae (Iyana Halley) and her mom (Sameerah Luqmaan-Harris). However, you could tell that something is still off. Amma has a mysteriousness of her own and Camille sensed this.
Teeth
On an ordinary day, Mae’s mom asks Camille about the girls, since they seemed to have had their first fight. Camille knew nothing about this, but she tells Mae’s mom that she would send Mae home when they arrive. However, as Camille went about her daily routine, she notices how one of the pieces of Amma’s dollhouse was in the trash bin. When she places it back, Camille finds teeth in the room that resembled Adora’s room. Amma arrives, saying “Don’t tell Mama.” End-credit flashbacks reveal Amma as the Lady in White as well as how she strangled Natalie, Ann, and Mae to death.
