Seth Meyers Confirmed to Host the 2018 Golden Globe Awards

The Golden Globes is well into its 75th year next year, and “Late Night” host Seth Meyers has now been chosen to handle the hosting duties of the prestigious ceremony this January. He follows Jimmy Fallon, who hosted last year’s event. Incidentally, Meyers also took over “Late Night” from Fallon when he moved to take over “The Tonight Show” from Conan O’Brien.
Meyers has been working in the comedy industry for over 12 years, with his usual stints seen on “Saturday Night Live.” He worked as a writer for segments and also during the “Weekend Update.” Since then, he’s making thousands of people crack with his comedic antics in “Late Night.”
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Meyer’s selection as the Golden Globes host. “The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards,” said HFPA President Meher Tatna. “With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year.”
Meyers has also been doing award shows for quite some time now. Back in 2010, he hosted the Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards and soon did the duties once again during 2014’s Prime Time Emmy awards.
The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Nominations will be announced on December 11th.
