Seth MacFarlane Reacts to Tucker Carlson’s Statement on Fox News

Tucker Carlson, a Fox News anchor, got himself into a controversial fiasco during his Friday Night news program. Carlson told his viewers not to believe in any other prominent news outlets. That said, comedy cartoon creator Seth MacFarlane fired back in a tweet that he is “embarrassed” to work in the same network that Carlson is in.

According to The Hill, Carlson said, “if you’re looking to understand what’s actually happening in this country, always assume the opposite of whatever they’re telling you on the big news stations.”

MacFarlane, the creator of FOX animated comedy shows like Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, American Dad!, and The Orville, for Fox, was negatively affected by the news anchor’s statement. MacFarlane retweeted the comment of  CNN media correspondent Brian Stelter, who called Carlson’s statement “sad,” and expressed his dismay over Carlson’s unacceptable broadcast and sarcastically summed it up to “just blindly obey Fox News.”

MacFarlane’s tweet already got more than 36,000 likes and nearly 3,000 comments, many of which suggested him to quit his job at FOX and move to another network. After all, he is one great asset of the company. So if he leaves, FOX will lose one of their biggest animated show hitmakers.

In support of MacFarlane’s views, other journalists mocked Carlson’s credibility as a journalist. Apart from CNN’s Stelter, Michael Barbaro of NYT’s Daily Podcast also expressed his views by quoting Stelter’s Tweet and writing that it’s not just sad, it’s “also repugnant.”

Though people on Twitter generally supports MacFarlane, the animated show creator also received criticism for his tweet saying that “he shouldn’t be embarrassed” and shouldn’t be doing that because he is earning money for his work with the Network.
