Following on from our initial coverage of new CBS scifi drama Under the Dome, comes the news that Secret Circle alum Britt Robertson has been cast in the upcoming show.
Based on a 2009 Stephen King novel, this new serialized drama centers on a small New England town that becomes sealed off from the rest of the world by a giant transparent dome. (We’re thinking of the Simpsons movie too!)
The show, produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, will follow the town’s efforts for survival and their attempts to escape the dome. Robertson (The Secret Circle, Life Unexpected) has signed on to play Angie, a young waitress and aspiring nurse who has always dreamed of leaving her small town home for greater things.
The series has won a straight-to-season order with 13 episodes currently in development.
Also in the news today is Gale Harold (The Secret Circle, Queer as Folk) who has reportedly signed on to Syfy’s upcoming scifi series Defiance in a recurring role. The news was broken today by convention organizers Rise N’Shine LA.
