‘Scandal’ Season 7 Episode 8 Is Quinn Dead?

Many of Scandal fans are still in shock on what transpired in the winter finale. Olivia Pope put out a kill order on her father but Eli Pope did not give in on Liv’s demand to stay in his corner. Instead, Papa Pope shot a woman believed to be Quinn Perkins. Is Quinn really dead in Scandal Season 7? Did Liv let her die?
Olivia’s (Kerry Washington) flight as President Mellie Grant’s (Bellamy Young) Chief of Staff and as the command of B613 will continue when Scandal Season 7 returns next month. More than that, she is devastated by the fact that someone died because of her power battle against her father and that person could her friend, Quinn (Katie Lowes).

Scandal Season 7 Episode 7 Quick Recap

In the midseason finale, titled “Something Borrowed,” Quinn was kidnapped in the elevator on the way to her wedding. Prior to the abduction, she accused Olivia as the mastermind behind the assassination of Bashman President Rashad.
Eli (Joe Morton) later on revealed to Olivia that he has the pregnant gladiator. He is using Quinn as leverage. Eli’s condition: Quinn’s life in exchange for his precious dinosaur bones that Olivia took from him. When Liv did not back down from Papa Pope’s threat to kill Quinn, the ex-B613 command walks outside and seconds later, a woman can be heard pleading for her life and then gunshots. Eli then walks back to Olivia with some bloodstains on his shirt.
Is Quinn dead? Did Olivia really let her friend die like what her mother suggested her to do to beat his father?

What Could Happen If Quinn Die?

There are unimaginable scenarios that could happen if Quinn die. For one, Charlie (George Newbern) will be really furious. His bride and unborn child are dead. That will not be easy for him to accept. Revenge could be the only option for him to cope. Imagine how he tortures Fenton Glackland (Dean Norris) on suspicion that the millionaire has Quinn? Well, that was just a prelude. What he can do the person who killed Quinn could be unthinkable.
The rest of OPA-turned QPA team will be pissed, more so if they found out that Olivia let Quinn die on her father’s hand. Liv’s friendship with Abby (Darby Stanchfield) and Huck (Guillermo Diaz) may end on a very bad note. Finally, former president Fitz Grant may also abhor Olivia.
Will Liv be able to survive all of these if Quinn is indeed dead? Morton teased during the recent Vulture Festival LA that not every character in the series will have a happy ending when the show wraps up. Season 7 will be the final run of Shoda Rhimes’ political drama.
“Happy endings can’t be the same for all of us. Whatever Shonda and the writers come up with, it may be satisfying for some of us but certainly not all of us,” Morton said as quoted by Deadline.
