Rowan Atkinson had cemented himself as a comedy icon with his Mr. Bean character, and now it looks like he’s coming back to slapstick with a completely new series called Man Vs. Bee.
Watch the trailer here:
Here’s the official description:
Bumbling dad Trevor tries to get the best of a cunning bee while house-sitting a posh mansion — but only unleashes more chaos in this comedy series.
Before you got thinking that this is some kind of serialized series, each episode of Man Vs. Bee is only going to fun for 10-minutes-long, and will essentially just feature the character of Trevor as he tries to get rid of a nasty bee.
Naturally, we should expect Atkinson’s character to get into very zany antics in pursuit of the bee, and we should expect a lot of damage and physical pain to come the way of Trevor in his fight with a bumblebee.
The whole show feels like it has a Tom and Jerry vibe to it where one character gets himself into silly shenanigans trying to get rid of one small thing. It’s essentially the movie Mousehunt where two guys try to get rid of a mouse, and their plans keep getting more and more elaborate, but the mouse manages to keep outsmarting them and they end up in precarious situations. It’s also kind of like Home Alone, except Macaulay Culkin is a bee.
This should be some good short fun.
Man Vs. Bee comes to Netflix on June 24.
