The entire family celebrates Dan and Roseanne’s anniversary at the Mexican restaurant where Becky works at. DJ (Michael Fishman) gives them a toast, but before he could finish his speech, they give him a round of applause. Darlene embarrasses Becky by pretending that it is her birthday, making Becky and her co-workers sing “Happy Birthday” to them in Spanish. Their bill arrives, then Dan eventually pays for it. Seeing the credit card, DJ suggests Dan and Roseanne celebrate their anniversary by checking in a hotel using their accumulated credit card points. The couple agrees with DJ’s idea.

The next morning, Dan talks on the phone, giving his specifications. Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) asks if he is talking to the hotel people, but it turns out to be the ham people. Apparently, Dan is picking one up on their way to the hotel. When Roseanne wakes up, she tells Dan that she is in need of pain pills for her knee. Jackie’s cop instincts kick in, so she starts to question everyone who goes into the kitchen. Dan thinks that they should have a better hiding place for the pills, but Roseanne tells him that she urgently needs them, so Dan decides to get some from his doctor.

They arrive at the hotel. Upon check-in, the receptionist asks Dan for a credit card. The receptionist gives them the package that is included in their registration. The one Dan hands to him got declined. Since Dan’s other credit card was not in his possession, they had no choice, so they proceed to leave. While they go, Roseanne takes some of the apples from the lobby. They arrive home and hold their celebration there, along with the champagne and the ham.

Dan and Roseanne sit in the living room. Roseanne laughs uncontrollably as they play spin the bottle. Dan is amused at first. He plays along with the fun that he sees Roseanne is having since he thinks that she is drunk until he realizes that it was not just the liquor that made Roseanne act out like that. Roseanne eventually reveals that she is keeping her medication in hidden locations.

That afternoon, Dan decides to confront Roseanne about her pain pill problem. He shows her the containers he found around the house. Roseanne reasons out that they cannot afford surgery, so she takes the pills instead. Dan is outraged by Roseanne’s lying. Roseanne compares the situation between when Dan’s back hurts with when her knees hurt. They continue to argue about how they could not afford a long-term solution to Roseanne’s knee problem. However, Dan tells her to book the surgery right before he leaves to take a walk. When he goes, Roseanne takes an ice bag and places it on her knees. She opens it, and she finds a ziplock full of pain pills.

The doorbell rings, and when Darlene opens it, she finds Crystal standing outside. Crystal tells them that she is retiring from their job at the casino. She tells them that she is retiring with full benefits. Becky arrives with champagne for Dan and Roseanne. Crystal offers Darlene her job at the casino but she declines her offer, so Becky expresses her interest in taking the opportunity. Dan follows Darlene, and he tries to convince Darlene to take the job by presenting how difficult her situation is to her. After this, he proceeds to prepare his things for the night.

Darlene and Jackie take Mary (Jayden Rey), Mark (Ames McNamara) and Harris (Emma Kenney) to dinner. Jackie sees Becky give the kids whipped cream right before they eat, so she mimics a bird, just like the kids did, to have some for herself. However, Becky tells her that it is only for the kids. While the kids are busy eating, Jackie talks to Becky about the job, saying that she wants it. Becky disagrees with her. Jackie interrupts them by saying that Harris has found some things in the word search that is not meant for kids, then she takes the whipped cream and has some.

That night, Becky decides to visit Darlene at the casino as a customer. She thought that she was having her revenge for what she Darlene did to her at Dan and Roseanne’s celebration, but Darlene gets the last laugh when she gives Becky’s number to a random man who was playing in the Casino.
