The last time Bong Joon-ho had a white protagonist in his movie was with Chris Evans in Snowpiercer, but now it looks like the director is once again working on an English-language film with the upcoming Mickey 17 starring Robert Pattinson.
Just in, we have a new teaser for the movie, and it confirms the release date of March 29, 2024. Check this out:

The movie is actually based on a book from Edward Ashton called Mickey7, and it centers on the character of Mickey 17 (Pattinson) who is an expendable employee on an expedition to colonize the ice world of Niflheim. Whenever a Mickey dies, he is then replaced with a regenerated body with most of the memories of the previous Mickey intact.
Besides Pattinson, the movie also stars Toni Collette, Steven Yeun, Mark Ruffalo, and Naomie Ackie.
If anything, the movie actually sounds a lot like the 2009 film Moon starring Sam Rockwell and directed by Duncan Jones. I don’t want to spoil anything about the film, but I guess you can surmise what I mean based on the trailer:
After Parasite, Bong has become one of the most celebrated directors today, and a lot of audience members can’t wait to see what kind of film he’ll deliver next. Though he is the new main Batman, I think Pattinson has also had quite the unique choice in films to star in, and I can’t wait to see his team-up with Bong for Mickey 17.
Mickey 17 is set to come out March 29, 2024.
