Just when you thought we didn’t have enough shows to look forward to for the rest of the year.
As officially announced, Rick and Morty comes back with their sixth season and it’s set to premiere in a few months on September 4. Here’s the announcement:

If you’ve been watching the show for a while, you’ll know that it probably doesn’t mean anything to analyze every bit of marketing in the series. I doubt we’re going to get a full episode that deals with Rick and Morty getting totally ripped; but I can imagine the writers cooking up a silly episode where the two just deal with it for half an hour.
Though Rick and Morty tends to avoid any serious serialization, the last episode of Season 5 has everyone wondering what the hell Evil Morty was up to. We got to see the entire Citadel of Ricks destroyed, plus we see jump into a portal that’s yellow this time.
Rick has been considered the ‘ultimate being’ in the series with nobody being able to stand against him, but with the last finale, it’s kind of implied that Rick now has to face the possibility of running into other beings that could definitely be better than he is.
So far, I think the series has been having a solid run. The show does have its unique brand of meta humor, and stakes managed to be raised with each season. We don’t know how long Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland plan to keep the series going, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a movie sooner or later.
Rick and Morty Season 6 premieres on Adult Swim on Sept. 4.
