Celebrities are barely ‘online literate’ the way Rahul Kohli is, and the Midnight Mass star has never been shy about his love for Star Wars. What’s interesting, he had landed a part in the SW universe, but he had to turn it down.
He recently revealed on his Twitter:
What if I told you that a few years ago, I auditioned for my DREAM role? What if I told you that within a week, I was offered it? What if I then told you that I turned it down due to scheduling conflicts, would you believe me?
WELL YOU SHOULD WHY WOULD I LIE

While the original post sounded pretty vague, he pretty much confirmed that the property was SW with this reply:

We don’t know what role Kohli was up for, but fans are assuming that is was on we’ve already seen in the Disney+ shows from The Mandalorian 2 to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
If you ask me, Kohli didn’t really miss a thing. Looking back, the Disney+ Star Wars properties don’t hold the same kind of prestige that the SW movies have, and a lot of roles in those stories end up feeling pretty small. Sure you have your Bill Burr’s Mayfeld once in a while, but what about Kumail Nanjiani, or Maya Erskine’s characters? Even Temuera Morrison felt like an extra in his own series.
I’m holding out for Kohli to actually get cast in theatrically released film, which is still very much down the pipeline. Taika Waititi still has his Star Wars project, and I’m still holding out for Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron film.
The next Star Wars property, Andor, is set to hit Disney+ this Sept. 21.
