We know that we’ll be seeing a lot of familiar faces from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in Across the Spider-Verse, but the movie will also be introducing us to some new (or rather old) faces from all of Spider-Man’s history.
Just in, some promo images have revealed a look at Spider-Punk as well as Scarlet Spider and Cyborg Spider-Woman:

Though he’s a lot scrawnier than previous iterations, this Spider-Punk has all the classic elements from the character from the spikey Mohawk to the sleeveless vest. I guess his suit does look more haphazard—which is something we should expect from your friendly neighborhood anarchist.
We don’t know how large of a role SP can have in the movie, but with him appearing in the promotional material, we can probably expect it to be substantial. I mean, even the first movie was able to give some great moments to characters like Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Ham.
The official synopsis for Across the Spider-Verse hasn’t been released yet, but based on what we’ve seen, it feels like Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) is going to be some kind of villain. Who knows, maybe he’s doing the noble thing, but Spider-Man’s been wrong before, and it will be up to Miles and Gwen to stop him.
With a release set for June 2023, it will probably be a while before we get a new teaser for Across the Spider-Verse. I’m just hoping that Sony drops something before the year ends.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to come out in theaters June 2, 2023.
