This May has fans excited for the premiere of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, but there’s another series in the works based on everyone’s second favorite Jedi—and it just started production.
The official Star Wars account has announced that production has started for Ahsoka starring Rosario Dawson, and the cowboy hat on the chair could only mean that Clone Wars and Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni is at the helm. Check this out:

We don’t have a specific plot breakdown of Ahsoka yet, but from what we can surmise from her Mandalorian Season 2 episode, she is on the search for Grand Admiral Thrawn, and perhaps one lost Ezra Bridger as well.
Besides Dawson, only two more cast members have been confirmed with named characters. Natasha Liu Bordizzo is set to play Rebels hero Sabine Wren, and Hayden Christensen has also been confirmed to be reprising the role of Anakin Skywalker (and maybe even Darth Vader). Other cast members who will be in the series (but their characters aren’t named) include Ray Stevenson, Ianna Sakhno, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
I’ll admit, while Ahsoka is a great character I always thought she hasn’t really gotten that great live-action treatment. I mean, if you don’t watch the Clone Wars, you’ll just find yourself confused everytime Ahsoka shows up and everyone loses their minds. Give Dawson something more interesting to do with the character Filoni!
No release date has been set for the Ahsoka series, but Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ with two episodes this May 27
