Preview for House of the Dragon Episode 8 Teases Another Time Jump

It feels like we had just gotten the ten-year time jump which introduced us to an older Rhaenyra and Alicent in House of the Dragon, but the next episode will feature another time skip with the kids now grown adults.

With the series slowly showing us the degradation of King Viserys, it seems that we could be seeing his last episodes in the show; which means that the Hightowers are now set to take over the throne with the intention of putting Aegon in power.

Though he was introduced as kind of a runt among the Targaryen kids, we also see a fully grown Aemond who now sports an eye patch after losing his eye in the last episode. While the children had been generally friendly toward each other, it looks like a line has definitely been drawn between the two parties vying for the throne, and there will be a lot of blood spilt along the way.

Oddly enough, House of the Dragon has been very erratic with its time skips, but I guess it all works for the character development. After all, we are still building up to the Dance of Dragons, and we can’t expect to wait until Season Three to finally see it begin. It’s a bummer that we get to lose some great actors in beloved parts, but the story so far has been riveting.
