[00:01:00] Mrs. Ross went over to Tommy’s office to invite Arthur over to her house. She told Tommy that it would’ve been her son’s 21st birthday if he was still alive. Tommy wanted to know why she was inviting Arthur over. Mrs. Ross responded that it would be like some kind of forgiveness. She added that it would also be a form of appreciation for the Shelby’s for helping their family get by. Mrs. Ross was really insisting that Arthur came instead of Tommy, so it raised Tommy’s suspicions as he bid Mrs. Ross farewell.

[00:03:00] Tommy assembled the Peaky Blinders in order to protect Arthur. They were going to set up a trap and use him as bait. Arthur agreed to the plan, and Tommy delegated their positions. Tommy would give out the signal on when to open fire on their enemies. Mrs. Ross was preparing sandwiches, waiting for Arthur’s arrival. She asked the Lord for forgiveness as she wanted vengeance that was long overdue.

[00:05:00] Tommy went to his position, and so did the rest of the Peaky Blinders. Arthur walked over to Mrs. Ross’s apartment and knocked on her door. She was shaking as she opened the door to face Arthur. He thanked Mrs. Ross for the invitation, but before she let Arthur in, she told him that weapons weren’t allowed in the house. Arthur told Mrs. Ross that he wasn’t carrying any firearms. Mrs. Ross checked Arthur and didn’t find a gun. Arthur sat down at the table, and Mrs. Ross offered him some tea while they waited for the other guests to arrive. Tommy saw a car pull up near the apartment complex, so he signaled Johnny Dogs and Isaiah. They took their guns out and were ready to shoot anyone who walked by. Finn was covering the other end of the apartment complex, and he saw a suspicious man walking by.

[00:08:00] Arthur was getting impatient, so he kept asking Mrs. Ross when the other guests were coming. She told Arthur that they would be arriving soon enough. Mrs. Ross wanted to say a few words to Arthur before their guests arrived. She couldn’t forgive him for killing her son, and she added that finding repentance wouldn’t forgive him of his sins. Arthur knew that forgiveness was out of his hands. Arthur told Mrs. Ross that the death of her son was a sporting accident. Since she would never be able to forgive Arthur, he wondered why she had invited him to her place in the first place. Mrs. Ross ordered her daughter to leave. The girl ran out into the street and signaled the car with a piece of cloth. The car backed out of the driveway and left. Tommy knew it was a decoy and that Luca had a different target.

[00:11:30] Finn went to Mrs. Ross’s apartment to fetch Arthur. He told him about the decoy, and they thought the real target was Michael. Arthur couldn’t believe that Mrs. Ross had tricked him. He flipped the table and pulled a gun from his cap. Arthur pointed the gun at Mrs. Ross. She told Arthur that if his faith was real, he would spare her. Arthur gave Mrs. Ross one hour to leave, or he will come back and kill her himself. Meanwhile, Luca went to the hospital to kill Michael. He hired a nurse to steal Michael’s gun while he killed the guard on duty. Michael couldn’t do anything but pray as Luca placed a gun between his eyes. Luca fired, but the gun was empty. Luca slowly backed out of Michael’s room and told him that he had accepted the deal from Polly.

[00:14:30] After a few minutes, the Peaky Blinders arrived to find one of their men dead. Tommy rushed inside Michael’s room, but he was alive. Tommy went back to the betting shop to call Aberama and inform him about the make and model of Luca’s car. They were able to make a roadblock on a bridge where Luca was planning to pass by. There was a policeman guarding the tipped-over wagon. He told Luca that the wagon would be cleared in 20 minutes. The policeman slipped by, telling Luca that the wagon belonged to gypsies. Luca knew that Tommy and his men were on their way, so he ordered his driver to leave. Someone had already slashed the driver’s throat while they weren’t looking. Aberama and his men opened fire on Luca’s car, but he was able to escape.

[00:18:30] Michael told Polly that Luca had spared him on the notion that they have a deal. Michael wanted to know what deal she had made with Luca. She responded that Michael should just focus on their trip to Australia. Michael demanded to know what deal she had made with Luca. Polly told him that the deal was to spare his life. Michael realized that Luca would spare his life in exchange for Tommy. He couldn’t accept that Polly would sell out their family. Michael told Polly that they didn’t do that to their own kin. Polly pointed out that if she didn’t make a deal with Luca, he would already be dead. That evening, Tommy went back to the scrapyard to meet with Aberama and Bonnie. He brought them the payment that was agreed upon per Italian killed.

[00:20:40] Aberama counted the money and knew it was short. He told Tommy that they had killed two Italians. Tommy told Aberama that he had shot a copper. He responded that he had shot the copper on purpose so that the constabulary would swarm the place and force Luca into hiding. Since the copper he shot was still alive, he would have a composite drawn for Luca, and Luca would become a public enemy. Tommy didn’t care about Aberama’s explanation. He allowed Luca to escape, so he was still out there. Tommy told Aberama that he wouldn’t be so careless when he came face to face with Luca. Aberama thought Tommy was getting soft from being a legal man all these years. Tommy paid no attention to Aberama’s insult and left.

[00:22:30] The next day, Charlie arrived on a boat with May. Tommy told her that the boat ride was for her own safety. He took May to the office where Lizzie greeted her as Lady Carleton. May took offense and told her that she was not a lady. Lizzie murmured that she really wasn’t. Tommy and May discussed his new horse. May wanted Tommy to sign the paper for the new horse. Tommy knew that May had other agendas for why she had come in person, aside from paperwork. May told Tommy that he had lost his wife and brother. She had thought the loss would change him; however, she now knew that nothing would change him. The door suddenly opened, and Lizzie came in to ask Tommy to sign some papers. Tommy told Lizzie that he had already signed the papers she was giving him.

[00:24:30] Lizzie came into the office because she was eavesdropping on their conversation. She told May that Tommy couldn’t resist the glamorous and expensive stuff, like his suit, which was handmade in London. May took the queue to gain the upper hand. Since Lizzie had brought in papers for the Grace Foundation, May wanted to make a donation. She signed a blank check and told Tommy that he could decide on the amount himself. May pointed out that Lizzie could go to the bank and encash the check. Lizzie left the office knowing that she had lost the fight. Tommy asked May if she had packed an overnight bag with her. May told him that she didn’t. Tommy informed May that there wouldn’t be any trains for London because the men were on strike. May hadn’t seen the strike in the paper, so she knew that Tommy was behind it.

[00:26:00] Tommy invited May to stay the night and taste his homemade gin. May didn’t want to, but she didn’t have a choice. Tommy left the office and confronted Lizzie about what she had done earlier. Lizzie was clearly jealous of May, and she didn’t want Tommy socializing with her. Lizzie tried to act coy, but Tommy wasn’t playing games with her. He left the office while Lizzie asked Tommy why May was still there. May got out of Tommy’s office and told Lizzie about the sudden strike. Back at the betting shop, Polly received a call from Luca. He told Polly that his little side trip to Michael was just a demonstration of his power. Luca told Polly that he could reach Michael any time he wanted and kill him in the blink of an eye. He threatened to kill Michael if she couldn’t deliver Tommy as agreed upon.

[00:28:00] Luca told Polly that she just needed to tell them where and when they could get to Tommy, and they would do the rest. Luca ended the call, and Polly went over to Tommy’s office. She asked Lizzie where Tommy was. Lizzie responded that he was out having sex with May. She showed Polly the blank check that she had filled out for ten grand. Lizzie told Polly what had happened earlier and why they had received a blank cheque. Lizzie asked Polly to read her tea leaves. Polly agreed if she was willing to fetch Tommy’s diary for her. Lizzie did as told and gave the teacup to Polly. Polly read her fortune and asked if Tommy had a free afternoon on his schedule. Lizzie looked at the diary and told Polly about a Friday afternoon. Polly told Lizzie to make sure that the Friday afternoon was clear on Tommy’s schedule.

[00:31:00] Polly didn’t tell Lizzie why she wanted to keep the afternoon free. All she told her was that she had an appointment for Tommy to attend to. Polly took the whisky from Lizzie and asked her to switch to stout. Lizzie wanted to know why she needed to switch to a new drink. Polly told her that she should also see a doctor about the baby in her womb. Lizzie nearly fainted upon hearing that she was pregnant. Meanwhile, Bonnie was on his way to becoming a pro boxer. Tommy and Aberama spoke to a Mr. Maine, who owned a gym. Tommy registered Bonnie as an Amateur turned pro under the welterweight class for the midlands division. Mr. Maine wanted to train Bonnie and work out his defense, but Tommy and Aberama only wanted to know if he was ready to fight.

[00:33:00] Mr. Maine signed Bonnie’s paper and told them that he was ready to fight. Tommy gave the certificate to Bonnie and told him that he had a fight scheduled against a boy named Goliath. While Tommy was out on business errands, May went to Charlie’s scrapyard. Curly accompanied her as she planned to take a walk around the canal. May asked Charlie if Tommy was really making gin. Charlie explained that Tommy was making gin to take his mind off things. Birmingham was currently his prison since the Italians had sent the Black Hand. Charlie told May that she should leave, but she insisted on waiting for Tommy. Curly offered for May to taste some of Tommy’s homemade gin while she waited. Tommy went to his factory, and it was empty. He spoke to Mr. Devlin to find out what had happened.

[00:35:00] Mr. Devlin told Tommy that the strikers had blocked the road and made the men get off the bus. They threatened their families, which gave them no choice but to concede. The bus turned around and took the men home. The police were nowhere to assist Tommy’s men because of the commotion that Luca and his men had caused the other day. News had spread around of the murder they had committed at the hospital as well. Tommy called Ada to ask for help. He returned to the scrapyard to meet with May. She lay on a haybale waiting for Tommy. May told Tommy that his gin was a little sweet but overall very good. He showed May his distillery inside the barn. May was surprised at the size of his distillery. She asked Tommy if this was just a hobby for him.

[00:37:30] Tommy responded that he didn’t have time for any hobbies. He was stuck in Small Heath and wanted to make his time worthwhile. He had asked a friend for some help to set up the distillery and gone on to produce gin. Tommy explained that he had been producing single malt whisky; however, his supply lines were currently unstable due to thefts, so he wanted to start over and produce gin. He had learned that women drank liquor as much as men did, and they preferred gin over whisky. Tommy planned to produce over 200 gallons once his recipe had been finalized. Things didn’t go as planned for Tommy and May. He tried to get her in bed, but she refused. May wanted a taxi since Tommy had gotten her a suite in a hotel. Tommy told May that they no longer trusted taxis, so he took her with him.

[00:41:00] Arthur took Finn to Mrs. Ross’s apartment. They were no longer there, so he gave the apartment to Finn so that he could have his own place. Finn apologized to Arthur as he wasn’t like John. He told him that he couldn’t pull the trigger earlier, and it might have cost Arthur his life. Arthur understood and told Finn that it wasn’t their decision who got to live or die. Tommy and May walked along the canal to Curly’s boat. He told her that she could still catch a train home to London. May thought there was a strike, but it was just Tommy’s plan to make her stay with him. In the end, Tommy told Curly to escort May to the train and make sure she was safe.

[00:44:00] Ada went to Jessie Eden’s talk. She continued to convince people to keep the strike as she managed to round up almost all of the working class. Ada offered to buy Jessie a drink in order to talk about Tommy’s proposal. Jessie recognized her, so Ada formally introduced herself as Ada Thorne. They entered a bar, and the bartender tried to get rid of Jessie, but everyone went quiet as soon as they saw Ada. She immediately went to business and told Jessie about the parity that Tommy was offering. Jessie didn’t want to accept any offers from Tommy as they were really close to winning. Ada gave her the invitation and said if she didn’t come, the offer for parity was withdrawn. Ada left the bar without another word.

[00:48:00] Alfie arrived in Small Heath with the kid named Goliath. He honked his car horn until Tommy came out of his house. Tommy immediately saw Goliath; he told him that he was going to introduce him to David. Tommy took Alfie to his distillery to talk business. They argued for a bit until Aberama and Bonnie arrived. Alfie immediately insulted Aberama and his hair. Aberama didn’t know who Alfie was, so he formally introduced himself as well as Goliath. Alfie told Aberama that Goliath was the current welterweight champion. Alfie asked Aberama if he was willing to risk his son’s life against Goliath. Aberama didn’t respond, but Bonnie was confident as he told Tommy that he just needed to name the day of their fight.

[00:54:00] Lizzie opened up the office as well as checked Tommy’s diary for the day that Polly had marked on his calendar. There was a black star similar to the day Tommy had taken over Billy Kimber’s legal betting licenses. There was nothing scheduled on that day, and Lizzie promised Polly she would keep it open. Tommy went back to the hospital to have Michael sign some paperwork. Polly told Tommy to visit the foundation for some prize-giving ceremonies. Michael asked Tommy if he was going alone. Tommy confirmed this and asked him why he was interested in his weekend activities. Michael thought about telling Tommy about Polly’s deal with Luca, but he didn’t. Michael only told Tommy to have a good weekend. Tommy left the hospital while Luca and his men rode in the back of a truck and followed his car.

[00:57:00] Polly was also at the hospital; she watched Tommy driving off. It might be the last day that she saw Tommy alive.
