Patty Jenkins Clarifies Wonder Woman 3 Rumors

It’s been a chaotic past week for the DC fandom with all the rumors coming out of the Superman sequel being cancelled and Jason Momoa being recast as Lobo, but one of the hardest news drops was that Patty Jenkins was no longer direct Wonder Woman 3.

Though rumors were going around that Jenkins had quit the project after a standing her ground with the WB CEOs, it seems that it wasn’t the case. Jenkins released in a statement:

“When there started being backlash about WW3 not happening, the attractive clickbait false story that it was me that killed it or walked away started to spread. This is simply not true. I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could to do move forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changed they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.”

We don’t know exactly what changes James Gunn and Peter Safran are planning, but if it means that Wonder Woman 3 couldn’t push forward, then it must be pretty big.

Even though Jenkins is saying goodbye to Diana of Themyscira, she still has another huge project in development with Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. Though fans thought she had been fired, she has confirmed that she struck a new deal with Lucasfilm to work on it after WW3; but with her leaving the project, Jenkins is now free to work on her Star War.

As of now, no release date has been set for Wonder Woman 3 or Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.
