With The Book of Boba Fett ready to move on from Boba Fett, fans are curious when they’re going to get the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+. The word going around is, we could be getting the show by May.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that sources have confirmed that Obi-Wan Kenobi could be debuting this May, corroborating a now-deleted tweet that has been making the rounds online.
With TBOBF ending this month, and Moon Knight making its premiere in March, it would make sense for the Kenobi series to release in May. That gives a lot of time for the series to build hype, as well as give audiences a break from Star Wars to make room for the new Marvel property.
Though we should expect a trailer by now if the series is going to come out in May, I have a feeling that we’ll be getting the teaser by the finale of TBOBF. With a mid-credits scene being on the nose, I would be fine if we just got our first teaser maybe a week after.
No official synopsis has been revealed for Obi-Wan Kenobi yet, but fans expect that the series will follow Obi-Wan’s story after the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It’s also said that the series will include Hayden Christensen reprising the role of Darth Vader as he hunts down the remaining Jedi after the purge, and we could have one more duel between the old friends before their final encounter on the Death Star.
Of course, this is just hearsay, but until we get an official synopsis from Lucasfilm, all we can do is guess.
No official release date has been set for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, but you can catch The Book of Boba Fett Wednesdays on Disney+.
