On September 10, the United States crowned another woman as America’s pretty representative. With over 51 contestants from different states, the title fell on North Dakota’s very own Cara Mund. Looking ever as fabulous with her long, brown locks, this Miss America had a lot to say—especially towards the political dilemma surrounding the United States.
At the age of 23, Cara Mund has expressed big dreams for herself and for her country. In fact, the newest Miss America has revealed her views on women’s rights. On the show, she says: “It’s important to have a woman’s perspective. In health care and on reproductive rights, it’s predominantly men making those decisions.” Interestingly enough, this North Dakota native also shared insights about her life goals. To the Associated Press, she says that her goal is to become North Dakota’s first woman elected to office as Governor. And along with this, she aspires to see more women in office as well.
It’s not going to be easy for Cara, but she’s determined to do just that. And if she was able to become Miss America, she’s not too far from becoming the state’s first female governor.
North Dakota’s Miss America Cara Mund Doesn’t Like Donald Trump’s Decision
Fun fact about Miss America 2018—this well-educated woman had her internship in the U.S. State. So her interest in the science of politics shouldn’t be a mystery to anyone. And even on-camera, she had no qualms about disagreeing with President Donald Trump—especially with his disinterest in climate change and unplugging from the Paris Climate Change Movement.
“It’s a bad decision,” she said. “There is evidence that climate change is existing and we need to be at that table.”
Rest assured 2018’s Miss America is going to be an interesting one. And maybe, we might hear a few more words regarding her political stance.
