Nickelodeon Cuts Ties With Sitcom Producer Dan Schneider

Satellite Cable Network Nickelodeon cuts ties with TV Series Producer Dan Schneider. After working for 25 years in the network, Schneider decided not to extend his contract. The famed producer spawned hit teen TV shows like “iCarly,” starring Miranda Cosgrove. He also worked on “Victorious,” where pop singer Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice started. Although Schneider was a prolific Nickelodeon writer, a spokesperson from the network confirmed his dismissal.

Why did Dan Schneider leave Nickelodeon?

According to Deadline, Schneider’s current shows are wrapping up. The network thinks that it’s time for Schneider to explore other possibilities and responsibilities.
“Following many conversations together about next directions and future opportunities, Nickelodeon and our long-time creative partner Dan Schneider/Schneider’s Bakery have agreed to not extend the current deal,” the Network said. “Since several Schneider’s Bakery projects are wrapping up, both sides agreed that this is a natural time for Nickelodeon and Schneider’s Bakery to pursue other opportunities and projects.”
Nickelodeon decided to cut ties with Schneider after the network canceled his show “Game Changers.” However, the network will continue with the season five of the show “Henry Danger,” which Schneider also wrote and produced.
“After three seasons and 63 episodes, Nickelodeon has wrapped production on its live-action series Game Shakers,” Nickelodeon said in a statement to Deadline. “We are proud of the show’s success, and our dedicated and talented cast and crew. Premieres will continue to air throughout 2018.”
Deadline also cites past staff and employees who filed many counts of abusive behavior complaints against Schneider. There were also questions about his bloated budgets and longer production days of his shows. Another issue is him posting pictures of his young actresses on social media. He tweeted a photo of a young woman’s toes once.
All the shows that Schneider handles would move to a new production site. It will now be in Nickelodeon’s Burbank Studios. The studio was where Schneider housed all his hit shows only in the past.
