New Trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Pits the Guardians Against the High Evolutionary

The Flash isn’t the only thing getting hyped up at the Super Bowl. Marvel has just dropped a new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and it gives us a look at the whole team as well as their incoming villain, the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).

While we don’t have a complete breakdown of the story, we do get teases of the multiple arcs that will be covered, from Rocket’s origin with the HE to Adam Warlock being tasked to come after the Guardians by the Sovereign.

We also get a look at this new Gamora interacting with Peter Quill. It’s been made clear that the original Gamora from the first Guardians has died, and it looks like this new version is going to be the one from the alternate timeline that helped save a captive Nebula in Avengers: Endgame.

What I didn’t expect was that the movie would somehow hint at a romance between Peter and Nebula. Though a rekindling of the romance with the alternate Gamora would be predictable, I like the idea of Peter being paired up with the one other person who is also reeling from a loss of the same person who was close to them.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 comes to theaters on May 5.
