We saw Paul Atreides join the Fremen by the end of Dune, and now we’re set to see his rise to power in the sequel Dune: Part Two. The new trailer just dropped, and it gives us a look at the returning cast as well as some new faces.
Check this out:
Here’s the synopsis:
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
The preview mostly focuses on Paul (Timothee Chalamet) with the Fremen, but we also get teases of new characters played by Florence Pugh, Lea Seydoux, and Austin Butler. We also have returning characters like Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin), and Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgard).
One character we don’t see though, is the Emperor Shaddam IV, the main antagonist who is also played by Christopher Walken.
With the first Dune coming out in the middle of the pandemic, it was kind of amazing how the film was able to be the commercial success that it was. At least we know that Denis Villeneuve will be able to end this story which is considered a pillar of the science-fiction genre.
Dune: Part Two comes to theaters on Nov. 3.
