After messing around with Spider-Man, Doctor Strange is ready for another solo adventure with The Multiverse of Madness. A new trailer has just dropped for the film, and we have some crazy cameos and callbacks teased for the movie.
Watch this:
Probably the biggest tease that everyone is buzzing about is that off Patrick Stewart’s Professor X. We don’t really see his face in the teaser, but his voice is unmistakable, and the way he rolls up to Strange smoothly implies that he’s on a chair.
Besides Charlie Xavier, we also have a look at Captain Marvel (who some assume is a variant played by Monica Rambeau), and some robots that awfully look a lot like Ultron.
Speaking of the robots, there has been word going around that Strange will come face to face with the Illuminati, a secret society from the comics comprised of the biggest geniuses in the Marvel Universe. The group consists of Professor X, Iron Man, Black Bolt (King of the Inhumans), Mister Fantastic, Namor, and Doctor Strange. With Strange in cuffs in front of a ‘council’, it’s very possible that this is the Illuminati, and we get to see some variant versions of some familiar MCU characters.
So far, the synopsis is still pretty vague, but after the way Spider-Man: No Way Home ended, I’m hoping for a new status quo to be established by the end of Multiverse of Madness.
In Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes to theaters on May 6.
