New Trailer for Dahmer Sheds Light on the Victims’ Story

The ridiculously titled Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story just premiered on Netflix, and a lot of people are taking a look back at the height of the fame of the Milwaukee Cannibal. Though the early previews do shed light on the performance from Evan Peters, we have a new trailer that focuses on Niecy Nash’s character Glenda Cleveland and the rest of Dahmer’s victims.

Watch this:

While Dahmer’s acts of brutality were well documented, the series actually has a pretty interesting angle in that it actually sheds light on the social climate of the time. Sure Dahmer was a murderer, but several attempts to get the cops to catch him were frequently foiled by the system, with some saying it had something to do with Dahmer’s victims who were members of the gay and black communities.

For now it’s too early to determine how the audience will receive the show, but it does have that same tone that Ryan Murphy had with his other American Crime Story series.

Here’s the show description:

Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer (played by Evan Peters) gruesomely took the lives of seventeen innocent victims. The series exposes these unconscionable crimes, centered around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade.

Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is now streaming on Netflix.
