New Spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Announce Ticket Sales Launch

Movie audiences may be gearing up to catch Chris Pratt as Mario in The Super Mario Bros. next week, but May will have him come back as Star-Lord for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Tickets go on sale this week, and Marvel has marked the launch with a short trailer (with a lot of new footage).

Check this out:

The film is said to mark the end of this iteration of the Guardians, and though we should expect a different version of the Guardians to appear in the future MCU canon, they won’t be comprised or Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Drax, Star-Lord, Nebula, and Mantis.

I’m actually pretty curious because this movie was expected to come out earlier, but director James Gunn had been temporarily fired by Marvel Studios after a series of old tweets got him ‘cancelled.’ He was even able to work on an entirely different movie with The Suicide Squad before he was able to come back to this film.

Funny though, I imagine if Gunn never got fired, we probably wouldn’t have gotten The Suicide Squad, and Gunn wouldn’t be the new co-head of DC Studios right now.

GOTG Vol. 3 is expected to be Gunn’s MCU swan song, but it would be great if he would be attached as a producer for the next Guardians featuring a whole new team.

Here’s the film’s description:

Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own – a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 comes to theaters on May 5.
