Each Mission: Impossible film is marked by a huge Tom Cruise stunt, whether it be scaling the world’s tallest building or hanging off the side of a plane. The upcoming M:I is banking on a stunt with Cruise jumping from a motorcycle off a cliff, and the first poster teases exactly that setpiece.

For context, the film had released an extensive featurette on the stunt, which involves Cruise jumping a motorcycle off a cliff then opening a parachute as he free-falls. You can check it out here:
We don’t have an extensive synopsis of what kind of story to expect from the film, but at this point, fans can pretty much expect that the stakes will be high, and we’re going to be watching some huge stunts from Cruise, all while using some sci-fi gadgets.
For now, Dead Reckoning is said to be the final two Mission: Impossible films before Cruise retires from the franchise. While I’m sure that the movies can go on with a new lead moving forward, you have to commend Cruise for sticking it out this long and finding out different ways to up the ante for each film. At 60-years-old, you’d expect him to be mentoring the new lead of the franchise by now, but while Cruise can still run, I guess he’s going to see Ethan Hunt’s story to the end.
Catch Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One when it hits theaters on July 14, 2023.
