New Girl Scoop: Is Jess’ First Date with Nick Doomed?

New Girl fans can look forward to a special episode airing outside of the usual time slot on Thursday April 4. “First Date” sees Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) taking some tentative relationship steps towards coupledom, by going out together on an official date. However, sources reveal Nick and Jess’ date may not be all smooth sailing and adorably awkward conversation.

First in line to attempt to sabotage the night are Schmidt and Winston, who fear a full on relationship between the two roommates will ruin the delicate balance of the loft. Or maybe they’re just horrified at the prospect of having to replace two trusted pals with ‘outside Dave’ (guest star Stee Agee, C) if Jess and Nick decide to move on?

Next up, a wardrobe clash sees Nick donning a suit while Jess dresses down for their night out, and finally, their choice of restaurant proves unlucky when Jess bumps into ex Russell (guest star Dermot Mulroney) and his date, Brandy (guest star Chelsey Crisp).
