The pandemic may have delayed the movie, but Jurassic World Dominion is finally set to come to theaters this June. The movie will finally bring back members of the original cast of Jurassic Park, and we have a new featurette highlighting the merging of the two worlds.
Watch this:
“Our storylines intersect. It’s the convergence of the two franchises,” says Bryce Dalls Howard, and director Colin Trevorrow—who skipped out on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom—said, “It’s been a great privilege to be a custodian of something like this. Our legacy characters, our Jurassic World characters are back.”
While the Jurassic World franchise does have its harsh critics, I thought that the concept to have the dinosaurs actually let loose on the world was pretty gutsy. Besides seeing dinosaurs just roaming free, the franchise is now actually asking a very big question about humanity’s responsibility to nature. Should it eradicate the dinosaurs to survive, or should humanity just find a better way of living amongst them?
Trevorrow may not have been able to make his Star Wars movie, but I’m hoping he manages to stick the landing when it comes to this franchise. Who knows, maybe there can be some more room for a Star Wars comeback in the next few years?
From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.
Jurassic World Dominion comes to theaters this June 10.
