New Featurette for Fantastic Beasts 3 Introduces Us to ‘Dumbledore’s First Army’

Harry Potter may have formed Dumbledore’s Army in Order of the Phoenix, but it looks like we’ll be meeting Dumbledore’s original team when it comes to Fantastic Beasts and the Secrets of Dumbledore. Just in, we have a new featurette and it gives us a look at the members of ‘Dumbledore’s First Army’.

The featurette actually gives us more of the story, and it’s revealed that the wizards working for Dumbledore have to go on their own separate missions in order to help Dumbledore fight Grindelwald. We also find out that ‘brotherhood’ will be an overarching theme in the film, what with the relationship between Newt and his brother Theseus, as well as Dumbledore and Aberforth.

I guess I’m just a bit irked that they would call them Dumbledore’s Army and not The Order of the Phoenix; I mean, the name just has so much more significance as compared to Harry’s secret Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

After the mess that was Crimes of Grindelwald, fans are hoping that the story will finally start being more cohesive with Secrets of Dumbledore; especially now that they brought in Potter screenwriter Steve Kloves to help J.K. Rowling with the script.

Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

Fantastic Beasts and the Secrets of Dumbledore hits theaters on April 15.
