With Black Panther: Wakanda Forever coming out this weekend, Marvel Studios is on their final marketing push for the film, Just in, we have a new featurette shedding the spotlight on director Ryan Coogler.
The promo essentially has everyone in the cast talking about Coogler’s work on the movie, and seeing as to how closely he was working with Chadwick Boseman in developing the character of T’Challa, it should have been very personal for him when it came to making this film that dealt with his death. Watch this:
“Above all, it is a relationship movie. We’ll have some incredible set pieces—but at the end of the day I think what people are really going to remember is the conversations. How do you move forward after losing someone that meant so much to you? You have to continue their legacy.” says Coogler.
It’s unclear how long Coogler plans to stay on the franchise, especially since Boseman’s death probably changed a lot of his plans. If they do decide to push forward with a female Panther on the throne, I think it would be interesting if they found a black woman director to take the helm, with Coogler producing; but I guess I’m getting too far ahead of myself.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with Nakia and Everett Ross to forge a new path for their beloved kingdom.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever comes to cinemas on Nov. 11.
