New Ant-Man 3 Featurette Delves More Into Kang’s Backstory

We had met a version of Jonathan Majors’ Kang in the finale of Loki, but another version of him is set to make an appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Thanks to a new featurette, we get to know a little more about the next Avengers-level threat and how he will play out in the MCU.
Watch this:
With multiple versions of Kang existing in the comics, it looks like Marvel Studios will also be playing with that concept when it comes to Majors’ character. “Kang is an infinite number of different personas, and we needed an actor to be able to pull that off, and that is Jonathan Majors,” says Marvel head Kevin Feige.
The featurette also kind of confirms the rumors that Kang is trapped in the Quantum Realm, and it looks like he’ll be forcing Scott Lang to help him escape. We don’t know if he’ll be able to succeed, but if Kang is going to be facing the Avengers in the future, I have a feeling that all doesn’t go too well by the end of Quantumania.
I’ll admit, Marvel Studios is kind of stuck with the herculean task of topping Avengers: Endgame, but with the singular canon expected to fall apart in the long run, I think they’re setting seeds for a multiverse where multiple versions of one character can exist at the same time. Feige and his team have their work cut out for them, but I’m very much rooting for them all to succeed.
Catch Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania when it hits theaters on Feb. 17.
