Though the first season of Netflix’s Space Force was met with mixed reviews, the streaming giant has offered to give the series another chance, and the second season of the workplace comedy had been greenlit. The great news is, we won’t have to wait too long before we get to see General Mark Naird and his kooky team of scientists and soldiers again.
As announced by the official Space Force account, the show will be back for its second season on February 18. Here’s the post:

Deadline reports that the second season will run for seven episodes—shorter than the first season which had 10. At least we know that series regulars like John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Jimmy O. Yang, Diana Silvers, and Don Lake will be coming back for Season 2.
It’s also worth noting that Norm Hiscock (Parks & Recreation) has also joined Space Force as a co-showrunner. Steve Carell, who plays Mark Naird, is also credited as a series co-creator and executive producer.
While Space Force was considered divisive for its first season, I’m already trusting that Daniels and his team have already worked out the kinks of the show by now. If anything, his track record of series is infamous for having terrible first seasons that make astonishing recoveries by Season 2—just take a look at The Office and Parks & Recreation.
If you haven’t checked out Space Force yet, now is the best time to get into the show. While Naird isn’t the strongest lead character, the hilarious side characters are a joy to root for.
Space Force returns to Netflix on Feb. 18.
