Netflix has once again added another star-studded film into its roster. On Wednesday, the streaming giant confirmed acquiring director Antonio Campos’ thriller movie The Devil All The Time. And crossing over from the MCU universe on to its front lines are Tom Holland and Chris Evans.
The midwestern gothic film is an adaptation of Donald Ray Pollock’s 2011 novel of the same name. And it revolves around a serial killer couple, a faith-testing preacher, and a corrupt local sheriff. The story spans across two decades set in the 1960s.
Netflix’s official logline for the movie reads “in a place called Knockemstiff, Ohio, a forgotten backwoods of this country, where a storm of faith, violence, and redemption is brewing. Out of desperation to save his dying wife, Willard Russell turns to prayer which succumbs to sacrifice. And this sets Arvin, Willard’s son, on his path from bullied kid to a man who knows when to take action.”
Holland will be starring as the protagonist Arvin and Evans will be playing the corrupt sheriff. Other A-list actors joining this grisly tale are Bill Skarsgard, Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, Eliza Scanlen, and Gabriel Elbert.
The screenplay was written by Antonio and Paulo Campos. The Wrap reports that principal photography of The Devil All The Time is set to begin next month in Alabama.
