Netflix's Sense8 To Return For A Two-Hour Series Finale

Good news, Sensates! Netflix is calling on all clusters because they’ve just confirmed that “Sense8” will indeed be back for a final two-hour series finale. Taking to Twitter, the streaming giant posted a heartfelt letter from series creator Lana Wachowski for all fans and teased about what’s going to happen to Wolfgang (Max Riemelt).

“Sense8” was cancelled last month, and despite strong fan petition, will not be renewed for another season. A big production effort with locations in different continents, “Sense8” follows the intricate lives of eight people around the world who are linked mentally, calling themselves “Sensates” and each group of Sensates branded as “clusters.” The main cluster of the show is made up of an impressive diverse cast and has since been icons who stood up for equality and respect.

Sensates Wins The Fight For Sense8

Fans around the globe where devastated when Netflix made the announcement after spanning two seasons and one Christmas special. However, due to the massive fan requests and petitions, the streaming service finally heard their cries and decided to revive “Sense8” for one last special episode, set to bring closure and a definitive end to the story of the Sensates.

The series will indeed return and is expected to premiere sometime next year. Wachowski’s letter also hints at a possibility for more episodes, but nothing is confirmed aside from the finale. Check it out below:

The second season of “Sense8” premiered in May of this year, and ended with a cliffhanger. Fans were initially outraged that the series wasn’t able to finish the story when it was cancelled. Netflix cited the huge production cost it took to make one episode of the show as one of the reasons why it had to cancel “Sense8.”

Fans will now have a chance to see what happens to the Sensates and where their story picks up again. Still, Wachowski’s hint about more episodes is an interesting thing to consider, but it would be very unlikely, given Netflix’s firm stand on not reviving the show for another season.

Until any other announcement is made, fans will at least have a little bit of time to spend with their favorite Sensates.
