It’s been more than four years since Cobra Kai came out on Youtube Red back in 2018, and though it didn’t really launch Youtube’s streaming service, it managed to gain huge popularity on Netflix. Despite the show’s stellar run, all things must come to an end.
Cobra Kai is set to close with it’s sixth season, and we have an official announcement from Netflix:
Cobra Kai never dies! After five badass seasons, Cobra Kai Season 6 will be the final showdown. The epic conclusion to the decades-long karate saga is coming soon to Netflix. Stream Cobra Kai’s first five seasons now.
The show creators had also released this statement following the reveal that the next season will be the last:

In an era where rebots and sequels of established franchises have been rampant, Cobra Kai has managed to toe the line of nostalgia pandering while making its series feel fresh and original.
The show actually has a lot of great characters with this generation of karate kids, but it also has some great arcs for legacy characters like Johnny and Danny who have kind of been stuck in their glory days, but are slowly learning to move past them in the show.
We don’t know if another series will ever have the same kind of dedication to the source material that Cobra Kai had, but you have to admit, it was one hell of a run.
Cobra Kai Season 6 has no release date yet, but you can catch the first five seasons now streaming on Netflix.
