'NCIS Los Angeles' Season 9, 200th Episode: Kensi, Deeks Rethink Career; Nell's Sister Joins Investigation

“NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 9, Episode 8 (“This Is What We Do”) airs Sunday, Nov. 19 on CBS. This is the 200th episode of the series, so fans are expecting a treat.
Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers from the previous episodes and minor details in this week’s new episode of NCIS: LA. Read on if you do not mind spoilers, or you are all caught up, anyway.

Deeks to Kensi: ‘I don’t want to lose my wife like Sam did’

In Episode 7 (“The Silo”), Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) goes on a mission to help thwart the launch of nuclear weapons targeted at Muslims. Anxious, she calls Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) to remind him of how much she loves him. For his part, Deeks just wants to Kensi to go home without risking her life at a missile launch facility. In the end, Kensi single-handedly disarms the villains, Air Force officials who have gone rogue, one of who was a guy she dated briefly in Japan.
By the end of  “The Silo,” Kensi and Deeks are compelled to re-assess where they are in their career. How much longer can they keep risking their lives and putting one of them in extreme anxiety over the other’s welfare? Deeks is sure of one thing. He does not want toknow how Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) felt when he lost his wife. It does not seem likely for either Daniela Ruah or Eric Olsen to leave NCIS. Still, shippers are hopeful that Kensi and Deeks are staying put, at least until the end of “NCIS: LA.” At the same time, fans are awaiting their wedding, which is expected to happen this season.

NCIS LA 200th Episode: What is Nell’s real name?

In Episode 8, the special 200th episode, Kensi and Deeks are expected to turn their focus to a new case. According to the CBS synopsis, this is what happens in “This Is What We Do” aka NCIS LA 9×02:
The NCIS team must locate a group of unknown assailants who illegally crossed the border and attacked California Highway Patrol officers. Also, Homeland Security sends over Specialist Sydney Jones, Nell’s older and bossy sister, to assist NCIS.
Nell ( (Intelligence Analyst Nell Jones) gets a bigger share in the spotlight this week, as fans are about to learn her real name. Her elder sister is also introduced, portrayed by Ashley Spillers.
“Sydney bombards Nell at work and bosses her around effectively — as the older sister would do,” Smith told TV Line. In the same interview, Smith assured NCIS fans that Linda Hunt’s Hetty Lange is returning this season. (We hope this means Hetty is not dying in Vietnam, or leaving the team after her overseas mission.)

What happens next to Hetty Lange?

Nell and Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) are currently trying to locate Hetty, but they have yet to find out that she has been held captive in Vietnam. Smith has revealed in the same interview that Nelly is playing a major part in Hetty’s return.
“This Is What We Do” was written by R. Scott Gemmill and directed by John P. Kousakis. The guest stars this week include Pamela Reed as Roberta, Marty Deek’s mother. (Will there be more details or surprises about their upcoming wedding?) John M. Jackson also returns as Admiral A.J. Chegwidden.
Chegwidden is expected to help the NCIS LA team to locate Hetty. They are friends whose lives were intertwined during and after the Vietnam War, alongside Owen Granger (portrayed by the late Miguel Ferrer).
