After being saved by NBC for a sixth season, Brooklyn Nine-Nine continues to enjoy the good life at the network as it’s now in for another season. This marks the show’s seventh season overall, and the second season to air on NBC exclusively.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine continues to flourish in its new home. According to NBC, the series enjoys a significant rise in viewership compared to its final run on FOX. The show has attracted another 1 million viewership milestone as it also averaged at a 1.4 rating among the 18-49 age bracket. In total, the episodes on NBC has 3.9 million viewers. It’s also one of NBC’s strongest shows on its digital streaming platform.
That said, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s pickup proves to be a smart move for the network. Even with the departure of Chelsea Peretti’s Gina Linetti, the show continues to engage viewers with its quirkiness and laughs. Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-Presidents of Scripted Programming at NBC, issued a statement, “It’s been one of our great joys as a network to give ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ a second life. Cheers to Dan Goor, Mike Schur, Luke Del Tredici and David Miner, and our amazing cast and crew who each week turn New York’s finest into New York’s funniest.”
Brooklyn Nine-Nine continues Thursday, February 28th, with ‘He Said, She Said’ at 9/8c on NBC.
