Next fight
Kota distracts Muscular with his water quirk, which buys Midoriya enough time to unleash his One For All with a 1,000,000% Delaware Smash to the villain’s face.
Back at the League headquarters, Kurogiri wonders if the squad they deployed is enough to do the job. Shigaraki says it’s fine regardless, as he’s now acting as a mastermind to his pawns. Whether or not they succeed isn’t important. He aims to create cracks in society that can scare away the heroes. Still, he doesn’t think they’re all expendable and prays that they’ll win as he holds a photo of Bakugo.
Kota sees Muscular on the ground while Midoriya struggles to stand. Midoriya worries that if the villain was that strong, his classmates would be in danger. He plans to leave Muscular for now and move on to the next step. Kota’s water quirk could prove useful against the fire, so Midoriya asks for his help. They both escape toward safety.
Aizawa manages to evade Dabi’s quirk and nullify him. He pins the villain to the ground and tries to extract info from him. But suddenly, Iida arrives with the other students, and Dabi wrestles free. It turns out that he’s not the real Dabi, as his body crumbles to the floor.
In the middle of the woods, the real Dabi is working on his flames alongside Twice, who can make body doubles.
Permission to Fight
Aizawa meets Midoriya and Kota on their way to safety. Midoriya needs to send a message to Bakugo, but he’s injured again. Aizawa takes Kota and tells him to carry on.
Magne carefully dodges Tiger’s attack while Spinner puts Mandalay on the backfoot. Midoriya breaks Snipper’s weapon to tell Mandalay that Kota is saved. He relays a message from Aizawa to Class A and B that they’ve been granted permission to engage in combat to defend themselves.
Kota asks the teacher if Midoriya will be okay. He hasn’t even had the chance to apologize or thank him. Aizawa says he’ll be fine, but he’ll have to endure a lecture later.
Midoriya tells Mandalay that he’s heading out to find Bakugo. Magne tries to stop him, but Spinner intervenes on Shigaraki’s behalf. Mandalay relays the message to let Bakugo retreat as he’s the prime target, but the boy won’t hear any of it.
Bakugo rushes at the villain, Moonfish, who can extend their teeth into blades for long-ranged attacks. Todoroki warns Bakugo to fall back due to Mandalay’s warning, but the latter thinks the warning was a ploy from Midoriya.
Risky Moves
Kendo and Tetsutetsu try to find the source of the poison gas to stop it. The villain Mustard senses their approach, so he pulls out a gun and shoots Tetsutetsu’s gas mask. Tetsutetsu then blocks a few successive gunshots while covering his mouth from poison. Mustard laughs as he claims to be able to trace their movements from the fluctuations in gas.
Tetsutetsus’ armor suddenly chips away after receiving more shots. Mustard antagonizes him as he keeps shooting, and soon, Tetsutetsu loosens his grip. Kendo follows up for an attack and manages to blow away the direction of the gas.
She insults the villain for his cowardice while Tetsutetsu goes in for an attack from behind. The two break Mustard’s mask, and the gas dissipates. Tetsutetsu figured out that Mustard is also vulnerable to his quirk.
While looking for Bakugo, Midoriya encounters a dangerous, shadowy figure. Thankfully, Shoji arrives to save him. One of his limbs is bleeding, and he warns Midoriya that Tokoyami’s quirk is acting up dangerously.
Our Thoughts
It’s fun to see the stakes balloon so highly in this whole arc, 4.2/5.
