Head to Camp
The League of Villains starts mobilizing for their next attack. The villain broker Giran extends his gratitude to Shigaraki as their continued moves will make it easier for those in the underground to come out of the woodwork and follow their dark path. Shigaraki smiles as this are only the beginning of his plans.
As the students of 1A assemble inside school grounds, Aizawa tells them that the work of a hero doesn’t have time for vacations. The aim of the training camp is to strengthen them to greater heights–going for “Plus Ultra”.
Monoma from class B asks why they’re all preparing for summer camp. Could it be that the students of class A failed the practical exam? As always, Kendo karate chops him and pulls him aside. Class B will also be joining them.
The bus sends the students to the heights of a mountainous area where they meet the pro-hero agency called Wild, Wild Pussycats. Midoriya gets excited after recognizing them as one of the leading Mountain Rescue agencies. He tells them he’s been a fan for twelve years, but Pixie-Bob of the pussycats stops him and yells that she’s 18 at heart.
The other girl, Mandalay tells them that the mountainous area is their property, and camp will be held at the foot of the mountain. It becomes clear that the students will have to go there by themselves. Aizawa declares that the training camp has officially started.
Camp Beasts
The students are shoved to the foot of the forest and are permitted to use their quirks as necessary to reach the campgrounds in three hours. Suddenly, a beast made out of mud attacks them. Midoriya recognizes it as something made by Pixie-Bob’s quirk, something designed to come and deter them.
The students manage to destroy one, but there are more on the way. They’ll have to work together to find the shortest route and defend themselves. By coordinating with each other and combining their quirks, the students of 1A manage to fight and make their way through the dense woods.
The students arrive to camp at 5:20 PM, all hungry and worse for wear. Pixie-Bob praises them for arriving earlier than expected. She highlights the top four performers Midoriya, Iida, Bakugo and Todoroki. Midoriya asks who the small boy with the Pussycats is. His name is Kota, and he doesn’t seem interested in making friends with those who want to become heroes.
Real Training Starts
Aizawa tells them to settle down and freshen up for dinner. That night they enjoy their fill of food and go to the public bath. Mineta climbs up the wall to the girls’ section but gets dropped by Kota, who then passes out after seeing the girls bathing.
Midoriya saves him and takes him to the pussycats’ office, where he asks about Kota’s negative view on heroes. Mandalay explains that Kota’s parents were heroes who were killed in action. In his eyes, he saw his parents leave him while everyone praises their actions.
Midoriya links this perspective as the same thing he heard from Shigaraki. There are many views in this world that can be shaped by circumstance.
Aizawa assembles his class early on for the start of their actual training camp. He asks Bakugo to throw a pitch once again to see their progress from three months ago. It records as 709 meters, not a huge improvement from the previous. Aizawa tells them that their physical abilities and stamina have improved but not their quirks. Strengthening them will be the primary goal of this camp.
Our Thoughts
Looks like our hero cast will be power-leveling for the next villain encounter! 3.5/5
