Show Them
All Might tells Midoriya that he’ll be the next generation of One for all, so he must tell the whole world he’s here. Support, Management, Ordinary, and Hero courses come together in the sports festival. Each grade will compete in preliminary games, and the winners will compete in the finals.
The hero invites him to stand out and show the world his presence. Midoriya starts mumbling and overthinking his chances, but All Might stops him in his tracks. He must adopt the mentality of being the best if he wants to have an impact on society. All Might knows his struggles, but at the same time, he wants Midoriya to remember the feeling of triumph he had at the beach.
Students from other classes start swarming the IA class to gather information. Bakugo tells them to go away, but a student reminds them that there are those who failed to get into the hero course and have settled into the other courses. Performing highly at the sports festival can get those students into the hero course, and the reverse is also possible. The student basically declares war and warns them to not let their guard down.
A student from 1B adds that Bakugo is being overconfident. He’s needlessly amassing hate, but he doesn’t mind. He’s already confident that he’s at the top. This inspires the other guys, especially Midoriya. He remembers all of his friends’ motivation as well as All Might’s pep talk. He remembers the feeling at the beach and resolves to work harder.
Midoriya and the other students train their best during the two weeks before the sports festival. They hone their quirks at the various practice facilities in UA until the day comes for the festival itself.
Festival Start
The press complains about how strict the security of UA has become, but that’s to be expected after the previous incidents. Pro Heroes are seen on campus to help with security. People are abuzz about the first-year students, who have some of the most promising talents in years.
Before the festival starts, Todoroki confronts Midoriya to challenge him, even when All Might favors him. Midoriya admits that Todoroki is above most of them, but everyone, including the ones outside their class, is gunning for the top. He isn’t any different.
Present Mic welcomes the audience and media for the start of the UA sports festival. The first years enter with grand applause, their previous encounter gaining popularity. The other classes are also acknowledged but with less fanfare.
The 18+ hero and teacher named Midnight calls Bakugo to the stage. As the top candidate, he declares that he’ll be number one. The other students boo him down, but Midoriya sees the determination in his friends’ eyes.
First Event
Midnight introduces the first event: an obstacle race. Students will have to race for four laps around the stadium with the freedom to do whatever they please. The students brace for the opening event with Midoriya intent to prove himself to everyone.
Students crowd into the starting line, but Todoroki freezes the area and slides past everyone. The students of 1A follow close. Mineta uses his grapes to catch up, but surprise villains arrive at the scene, the same robotic ones they fought during the entrance exams. This time, they’re the gigantic zero-point villains.
Todoroki manages to freeze them all to impress his father, who’s watching. In addition, he topples them down to block the others from passing. Midoriya remembers his time at the practical exams and plans his next move.
Our Thoughts
Finally, an all-out showcase for IA. And it seems we also have a surplus of great characters from other classes. 4/5.
