Moon Knight may have been on the darker side of things, but Disney+ and Marvel Studios are ready to go a little lighter with June’s Ms. Marvel. The series is set to premiere next week, and we have some new colorful character posters featuring Kamala Khan and the rest of her family and friends.

Besides Kamala, the posters give us a look at characters Yusuf, Muneeba, and Aamir Khan; we also have a look at Kamala’s best friends Bruno and Nakie. We don’t know exactly how they will factor into the series, but the comics have shown us that the family is pretty much unaware of Kamala’s powers with her friends being the only ones in on her secret.
The comic also features a lot of team-ups for Kamala with characters like Wolverine or the Inhumans, so I don’t know if the series will be able to go in that direction. Hopefully we can get some crossovers down the line, but we’re going to just have to wait and see.
Is it so hard to get Kate Bishop or Matt Murdock to appear again?
Ms. Marvel is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels invisible both at home and at school—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?
Ms. Marvel premieres on Disney+ on June 8.
