More Alleged Abuse Victims of Jonathan Majors Step Forward to Cooperate with DA’s Office

It looks like Marvel’s Phase 5 isn’t off to a good start. Marvel had been hyping up Jonathan Majors as Kang in the next phase of Avengers films, but the actor had caught a recent PR snag when he got arrested a few weeks ago due to alleged assault of a woman.
Despite the released statement from the victim claiming that Majors was innocent, Majors’ manager and PR firm have dropped him; making things look pretty bad. Now Variety is reporting that even more of Majors’ alleged victims have come forward, and are cooperating with the Manhattan DA’s office. We don’t know what they have on Majors yet, but Majors’ defense sounds pretty confident that they can prove his innocence. They said in a statement:
“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows… We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.”
For now, everyone is abuzz talking about how Majors’ career could be taking a sudden nosedive just weeks after his Marvel debut and praise for his role in Creed III. Fans are already wondering how Marvel is going to react to these accusations, and are already pitching several actors to recast I the part of Kang (one of the top choices being John Boyega).
On the other hand, there are discussions that the sudden dropping of Majors while several other white actors who have been accused of abuse (e.g., Ezra Miller) still have representation is a sign of systematic racism in the industry.
Things would honestly go smoother if Majors was found innocent, but if he’s proven guilty, Marvel is going to have to do one heck of a PR sweep after setting Majors up as their next Avengers-level antagonist.
Majors is set to make a court appearance later in May. We’re expecting him to appear as Kang in Loki Season 2 which hits Disney+ later this year.
