Money Heist Season 1 Episode 10 Recap

[00:00:10] Alison came out from a bathroom stall as the other students entered the bathroom. They immediately ganged up on her. The other students blamed her because the police chose her release over the other hostages. Nairobi entered the bathroom to confront Pablo and stop them. She grabbed his balls and made him coo like a hen. She instructed Helsinki to escort the students out of the bathroom and stopped Alison from leaving. Nairobi asked Alison if she was okay. She wanted new overalls, but Nairobi told her that the only thing that she could do was to take them off and scrub them.

[00:02:20] As the two of them cleaned up, they had a small conversation. Nairobi told her that she must do something to not get bullied over and over by her classmates. Alison told Nairobi that all she knew was dancing and hunting. Nairobi was surprised that she knew how to handle weaponry as she looked so innocent. She told Alison not to show fear. Nairobi suggested that she should wait for the right moment and strike.

[00:05:35] Raquel asked one of her officers if the robbers had sent any videos yet; he responded that they hadn’t received anything. She tells one of the other officers that she’s going to make a personal call so that they can turn off the recording. She called the Professor on his phone; Angel heard their conversation and left. Raquel called him to ask if he had decided on a restaurant for dinner. He told her that he hadn’t found one, but he would like to just meet at the café. Raquel was fine with the decision, and they ended their conversation. Angel returned and told her that he had more information about retroxil.

[00:07:40] Raquel told all the other officers to leave the command center as she still couldn’t assure the safety of their conversations. Angel told her that a special medication needed to be ordered specifically by the patient. They traced the orders to Toledo for 40 patients; however, there were only three patients within the region. Raquel instructed Angel to find the most recent purchase and acquire the records of the patient that bought the medicines. She told him to go alone. Raquel called on the officers, and they all went back to their posts as Angel headed off to get the records.

[00:10:30] Helsinki brought Arturo to a room and told him that he had a surprise. Arturo talked to Helsinki, saying that he’s open about gay people and that he has a gay brother, who although, he hasn’t openly talked about his sexuality, their family assumes that he’s gay. It was an awkward situation that he was trying to avoid when Monica came out of the other room. Arturo was shocked; he didn’t know what to do. Helsinki told him that she was the surprise that he was talking about. Helsinki left the room so that they could talk.

[00:11:30] Arturo hugged Monica. He told her that she was the reason he kept on fighting, but Monica knew otherwise. Arturo didn’t love her for what she was; he only loved her for the sex. Among the hostages, Arturo was the first to know that Monica was still alive. Instead of asking how she was doing, he kissed her and told her that he loved her hair. He smelled and licked her with all the lust in his body. He groped her breasts and her ass. There was no love, only lust.

[00:13:10] The command center started receiving the proof of life videos. Suarez told Raquel that the videos were taken in front of a television that displayed the news for the day. The IT department told them that the videos seemed edited, and the quality was lowered on purpose. Colonel Prieto came in and told her that the shooting earlier was already the current headlines. The office of the prime minister wants them to enter the bank. Raquel pleaded and asked for 2 hours to get any proof of life; if she couldn’t acquire the proof within 2 hours, they would enter the bank.

[00:14:30] Raquel called the Professor and told him that it wasn’t a good decision to manipulate the videos. They started things off with small talk and proceeded to the issue at hand. Raquel needed proof of life, so she offered him a deal. She was to enter the bank alone, or she would gas the bank and enter with force. The Professor accepted her offer to enter the bank and ended their conversation. Angel was against her decision, but he told her that a lot more things needed to be done out there than inside the command center.

[00:17:00] Raquel proceeded to the bank where Berlin, Rio, and Tokyo were waiting for her. She asked for the Professor; however, Berlin told her that he wasn’t there as he wanted to preserve his anonymity. Tokyo frisked her and found no weaponry. Rio scanned her for any devices, and they found a perennial camera hidden in her undergarments. Berlin asked Tokyo to frisk Raquel again and got the camera. She handed it over to Rio for disposal. He was surprised to see that it had the name Ray on it. Rio’s mother called him Ray, and he wondered whether the camera was intended for him. Berlin led the way into the museum, where they would start the proof of life.

[00:19:45] Angel was at the café speaking with a judge to get a warrant to search the pharmacy in Toledo. The Professor entered the café and sat beside him. Angel told the judge that they needed the warrant to follow a lead involving one of the robbers. Angel told him that Raquel wasn’t there, but he responded that he was only there for a drink. The Professor asked Angel how the heist was going because it seemed that it was taking quite some time to be resolved, and there was news about gunshots as well. He told him that it was going to end soon. Angel asked him some personal questions, and the Professor answered them casually. He told him that he was working on a business related to cider. Angel hoped that he could taste the cider that he was making, and The Professor offered him a bottle in the near future.

[00:23:00] Berlin brought Raquel a cup of coffee before they began the show. He presented each hostage one by one as if it was a fashion show. He started with Arturo. Berlin introduced Raquel as the one who ordered to shoot him. Raquel apologized on behalf of the police and wished him well. The teacher handed Arturo the scissors that she had acquired earlier from Berlin’s office. Helsinki escorted Arturo, and he brought the scissors with him. Oslo was busy taking care of the separated hostages who were still in a state of shock from the mind games that Berlin was playing with them.

[00:26:15] Raquel talked to each hostage that was presented to her. When it was Monica’s turn, Rio told her not to mention the gunshot wound. She told Raquel that she was dizzy because she was pregnant. Raquel asked her if she was the one who asked for the abortion pills, and she confirmed. She told her that she had changed her mind and that she would like to continue the pregnancy. Raquel assured her that she would be able to get out of this situation. Before they took her back, blood came out of her wound. Berlin ended the conversation as quickly as possible so that Raquel wouldn’t notice.

[00:28:00] As Monica returned to the hostages, Arturo asked if she had talked to Raquel. She told him that she talked to her and just answered the questions correctly as they didn’t want her to find out that she was shot. Arturo thought of a plan that involved Alison hiding inside one of the vaults. He told them that the proof of life shouldn’t end smoothly, so she needed to hide for as long as she could so that the police would be alerted that something was wrong. He gave Alison the password to the vault; however, she couldn’t memorize it properly. Monica asked him to leave her alone. Arturo showed the scissors to Monica and asked her to fight back, but Monica didn’t want to. As they were arguing, Denver entered the room. He was there to assist Monica since her wound opened up.

[00:30:00] Back at the lobby, Raquel was having a talk with Berlin. He told her a story about one of the displays in the museum, but she wasn’t pleased. She complained about the lengthy procedure that she had to endure to get the proof of life. She told Berlin that she wanted to see Alison immediately, but he replied that dessert always comes last. Tokyo showed up to inform Berlin that the security guards would be brought in.

[00:31:15] As Tokyo and Berlin were talking, Raquel could hear the printing machines, and she realized that they deceived her to gain more time to print more money. As the Professor had taught them, they needed to steal the police time in order to maximize their stay within the bank and print more money. He told them that the police aren’t stupid, and sooner or later, they will realize the game they were playing, but they won’t be able to do anything because the hostages’ safety comes first.

[00:33:30] Arturo was furious that Denver was touching Monica. He wanted to stab Denver so badly. Arturo was about to make his move when Monica asked Denver to take her back to the vault. Denver carried her out of the room. Arturo got back to Alison and requested her to hide to save them. Arturo persuaded Alison to be the hero. He told her that he saw how she was being treated by her classmates, and now she had a chance to prove her worth and change her fate. He urged her to follow his plan.

[00:35:00] Raquel had now spoken with all of the hostages except for Alison Parker. She demanded to speak with her, but Tokyo disagreed. Berlin intervened in their conversation, and Raquel revealed his deepest secret. She told him that he only had about seven months to live. Rio and Tokyo were shocked at what Raquel mentioned. The two of them turned to Berlin for answers. Raquel explained that Berlin was suffering from Helmer’s myopathy. He was unable to respond and just walked out of the room. Raquel thought that there were no secrets among them and that they were friends. She demanded to speak with Alison immediately.

[00:37:00] Nairobi was escorting Alison to the lobby when she asked to go to the bathroom first. She allowed her, and Allison entered one of the stalls. Berlin went back to the isolated hostages, and one of them requested to speak with him personally. Ariadna begged Berlin to let her go to the other hostages. She told him that she was okay and was no longer nervous. Ariadna offered to help with the tasks, but Berlin told her that everything had already been assigned. She could no longer handle the stress. She thought Silvia was already dead and that all of them would be killed.

[00:39:00] Raquel spoke with Rio and Tokyo as she waited for Alison. She gave Tokyo a bit of advice, but Tokyo didn’t care. She told her that she had already suffered when her boyfriend died, and she wasn’t afraid of dying. She told Raquel that the police could come in, guns blazing, and take her. Colonel Prieto and Suarez were already panicking inside the command center. They had 11 minutes left before they would forcefully enter the bank, and Raquel still hadn’t come out of the bank. Back in the office, Berlin conversed with Ariadna.

[00:39:52] He told her that back in World War 2, when Mussolini was losing, his mind was clouded, and he was unable to think clearly. Mussolini thought that sex would lift his spirits and therefore had a prostitute live next to his office. The prostitute served as his happy pill. Ariadna offered herself to Berlin, but he refused, saying that he didn’t want anyone to have sex with him against their will. Ariadna told him that she truly wanted to have sex with him. Berlin asked Ariadna to dance for him.

[00:41:00]  While Ariadna was dancing for Berlin, Alison was escaping from Nairobi. She crawled under the other bathroom stalls until she reached the one nearest the door and made a run for it. She headed for the vault and locked herself in. Ariadna danced the best that she could; she stripped off her clothes and approached Berlin. The Professor saw Alison running on the security cameras and tried to call Berlin. As he was making the call, the buzzer to his hideout went off; someone was at his doorstep. It was Angel.

[00:43:00] The Professor opened his door and let Angel in. Angel told him that he was in the neighborhood and saw The Professor go inside. He told him that he recognized him and came by to greet him. Angel wanted to have a taste of his cider as promised. The Professor gave him a glass to taste, and he told him that he was an amateur. As the Professor was busy filling up the glass, Angel pocketed a spoon. Angel told him that it tasted fine, albeit bitter. Angel jumped the gun and asked how things were between him and Raquel. He told him that they were going on a date. Angel told him not to serve the cider as it would only upset her stomach.

[00:45:00] Back at the bank, Nairobi approached Rio to tell him that Alison was missing. Rio went with her to look for Alison. Raquel spoke with Tokyo to inform her that, without the microphone, the police wouldn’t know if she was okay. The police were getting ready to storm the bank in nine minutes. Raquel told Tokyo that she needed to leave immediately to avoid a massacre, but she pointed her gun at her and told her to sit down. Rio told Nairobi that he would call the Professor.

[00:45:30] Angel looked around the hideout, he almost saw that Salva was The Professor, but he received a call. It was a confirmation from the judge that he had signed the warrant. Angel left, and the Professor answered Rio’s call. He informed them where Alison was. Rio and Nairobi went to the vault and located Alison. They dragged her out of the vault and brought her to Raquel. She wanted to speak with her, but Tokyo cut her off and escorted her out of the building.

[00:48:00] Angel went over to the forensics team and asked if they found anything. One of the personnel told her that they found a print that didn’t belong to the police that drove the police car. The database showed no results when they ran the print against it. Angel gave her a spoon and told her to run the print against it.  Alberto, Raquel’s ex-husband, approached him and asked where the spoon came from. He told him that they were just clearing out a hunch. Alberto told him that it was against procedure; however, he was asking a personal favor. Alberto obliged, and Angel left.

[00:49:30] Berlin apologized to the crew. He confirmed that he was sick and that he would die soon. He didn’t want anyone to feel sad or feel sorry for him, so he offered a toast. Berlin told them that everyone would die, but the toast was for being alive and because their plan was going smoothly.

[00:51:10] Raquel told Prieto that Rio was the weakest link in the chain. Their IT department hid a message for him on the microphone that they found when they frisked her earlier. It was a video from Rio’s parents; they got him a lawyer and a plea deal to reduce his prison sentence once he surrendered. Prieto was doubtful that Rio got the video. Raquel told him that if Rio surrendered, it meant their plan was working. Rio’s parents told him that the plea deal would ensure that he got out of prison within less than a year. They wanted him to think out the deal as it wasn’t too late.

[00:52:20] Angel headed to Toledo to check out the pharmacy. He called his wife to inform her that he wouldn’t be able to make it home in time for dinner. The staff of the pharmacy informed Angel about the robbery as soon as he arrived. The robber only wanted a list of purchases without prescriptions and other important documents. Angel saw a man through the window of the pharmacy; he got on his motorbike and drove off before Angel could catch up to him. It was the Professor. Despite sacrificing their Trojan horse, he was one step ahead of the police.
