Modern Family fans now for a fact that the show wanted Hayley (Sarah Hyland) to end up wth Andy (Adam DeVine), but DeVine’s schedule couldn’t make him come back for the final season; hence Hayley ended up with her high school boyfriend Dylan.
With the new trailer for Pitch Perfect spinoff Bumper in Berlin though, it seems that we could be getting the Hayley/Andy endgame that fans have wanted this whole time. Watch this:
Here’s the official synopsis:
In the new series for Peacock, several years after we last saw him in “Pitch Perfect,” Adam Devine’s Bumper Allen moves to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin.
Besides Bumper, the series brings back Flula Borg who was one of the main antagonists of Pitch Perfect 2. Though Borg’s character may be on Bumper’s side now, we do have an antagonist in the form of Jameela Jamil, who is every bit as colourful as her character in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Probably the biggest draw of this series (at least for Modern Family fans) is the reunion of DeVine and Hyland. The two have undoubtable chemistry, and it’s going to be great to see them bounce off of each other onscreen again. I guess when it comes to Pitch Perfect fans though, they’ll be wondering what happened between Bumper and Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) whose relationship was brought in the spotlight in the second film.
Catch Bumper in Berlin when it starts streaming on Peacock on Nov. 23.
