While the porn industry mostly caters to men, there is some material out there that is catered to titillate women. Just in, we have a new trailer for Minx, a series that looks to tell the story of the rise of feminist erotica in the 70s.
Check this out:
Here’s the official description:
In the 1970s, Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond) is a young feminist from Los Angeles who creates an unlikely bond with editor Doug (Jake Johnson) as they set out to create the first women’s erotic magazine.
Audiences may recognize Jake Johnson from New Girl and lead actress Ophelia Lovibond from Elementary. Marvel fans will also know Lovibond better from Guardians of the Galaxy, where she played one of the Collector’s errand girls, Carina. Johnson also provided the voice for one Peter B. Parker in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Besides the two leads, the series also includes Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, and Oscar Montoya. Michael Angarano is also returning to a 70s period series again; the previous one being I’m Dying Up Here.
To some wondering, Minx is a completely fictional magazine, but I’m sure the sexism in the industry around the 70s was a real thing. We don’t know how much the series will draw from reality, but it would be interesting to see some actual history when it comes to these period pieces.
The series is expected to release two episodes a week, and will make its premiere on HBO Max on March 17.
