HBO Max may have cancelled Minx, but the show had been picked up by Starz for its second season. We don’t have a trailer for Minx 2 yet, but we do have a premiere date.
According to Variety, Minx Season 2 will be making its premiere on Starz on July 21. As of now, the first season is available to stream on the Starz app.
Here’s the trailer for the first season:
The synopsis reads:
In the 1970s, Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond) is a young feminist from Los Angeles who creates an unlikely bond with editor Doug (Jake Johnson) as they set out to create the first women’s erotic magazine.
We don’t have an official synopsis for Season 2 yet, but the site does say that in the second season, “Doug and Joyce grapple with Minx’s explosive success, which brings more money, fame and temptation than either of them know how to handle.”
I have to say, I was pretty bummed when it was announced that HBO cancelled Minx because I thought the series was actually pretty fun. It’s great that Starz was able to pick-up the show, and I’m hoping that the showrunners actually manage to end the series on their terms.
As for HBO, Minx was just one of several series that got cut when new management decided to change things. Imagine the platform having to remove Westworld just so they can get a tax cut. I wonder if they regret letting a show like Minx go.
Catch Minx 2 when it premieres on Starz this summer on July 21.
