Ever since her breakout role on Netflix’s hit sci-fi series Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown has kept herself pretty busy. Now, she has set her eyes on a new project. Brown is set to produce the cancer drama film A Time Lost for Netflix based on the original story she wrote with her sister, Paige Brown.
A Time Lost features a long-standing feud between two Long Island families that comes to a head when one of their teenage daughters is diagnosed with cancer. Brown will be producing the film through PCMA productions. Her sister Paige will be executive producing together with Robert Brown.
According to The Wrap, Netflix has tapped screenwriter Anna Klassen to pen the script based on the sister’s original story. In addition to this new project, Klassen is already working with Netflix on Dorothy and Alice where the famous heroines from Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz are sent to a home for troubled youths. She also wrote the J.K. Rowling biopic When Lightning Strikes.

In a joint statement given by Millie and Paige, the sisters expressed their gratitude towards the streaming service for giving them a chance to give life to A Time Lost. “We are so grateful to Netflix for their confidence in us and this beautiful story, which we have spent years writing and developing,” said the sisters. “It’s about friendship, family and overcoming obstacles when it feels like the world is pushing you down. It’s been a labor of love, literally.” As of now, however, only Millie is attached to A Time Lost.
Netflix’s VP of independent film and documentary features Lisa Nishimura also expressed her excitement over working with Millie behind the camera. “Millie is an extraordinary creative talent. We’ve been lucky to have her in our family from the beginning of her career. It is a genuine thrill to witness Millie bring her distinct vision to the screen, now as a writer and producer, alongside her sister on this wonderful film.” she said in her statement.
Brown recently starred in Warner Bros. Godzilla: King of the Monsters alongside Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chander, O’Shea Jackson, and Charles Dance. And she will be reprising her role in next year’s Godzilla vs. Kong. She is also set to reprise her role as Eleven in Stranger Things. Currently, she’s filming for Enola Holmes together with Henry Cavill, Sam Claflin, and Helena Bonham Carter.
